Sometimes Disney Princesses need a bit of a wardrobe change. What are your thoughts on this new look for a beloved princess?
The Princess’s New Clothes
Every now and then, the beloved characters that greet fans in Disney Parks get a bit of a wardrobe change! For example, we saw this when Frozen 2 debuted. Elsa and Anna began greeting Guests in outfits they wore in their new film. We have also seen Max greet fans in his Powerline Costume.
For even more fun, Disney recently announced that Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Clairabelle will be wearing Sanderson Sister costumes this Halloween! Now another Disney Princess is getting a brand new look! And, fans already have had a chance to take a look!
Princess Tiana
Princess Tiana has already gotten to wear more than one dress in Disney Parks. You might remember when she traded her gorgeous gown for an amazing flapper-inspired dress for Disney+ Day.
We love her ball gown. Even so, it was fun to see her wearing something new and equally beautiful in its own right.
It is no secret that Princess Tiana is about to have her very own ride in Walt Disney World. And, now she will have an outfit to match her on-ride persona.
The New Outfit
Tiana debuted her new outfit today at the ESSENCE Fest in New Orleans. The outfit matches the concept art for the costuming for the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride.
For now, you can still see Tiana in her ballgown when you visit Walt Disney World and Disneyland. However, we might see her greeting Guests in her new outfit soon enough alongside her ride opening in 2024.
If you love the ballgown, never fear. There will likely be places you can see her in it.
After all, it is what she wears at character meals such as Akershus. And remember, many characters wear different outfits depending on what park they are in and whether they are in restaurants or stand-alone character meets or appearing in parades.

I think it brings out the Louisiana in her but will inspire girls not every princess where's a dress. I love it

If you really look at it then it's good because Tiana was the type to not follow the standards in her time such as her being a black women owning a restaurant.

Women didnt wear pants in the 1920's, this is not only out of character and era, Tiana always had long hair pulled back. And always wore a dress of some sort. This is a terrible look for her.

Typically that held true. However, in 20’s it was acceptable for women to wear pants/togs with knickers or even breeches for sport or for travel and adventuring. It seems the ride outfit is catering toward her adventure in the ride rather than what she would wear to her restaurant or to a party.
