Did the Hatbox Ghost Materialize Now That Haunted Mansion Reopened

Refurbishment at the Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion, a classic attraction in Walt Disney World, just underwent a period of refurbishment. Naturally, refurbishment is a necessary evil for rides like the Haunted Mansion. While it is disappointing, it does the very important work of keeping us safe and ensuring that although there’s room for one more that no one actually meets any sort of grim fate.

Of course, that doesn’t always work out. In fact, the Haunted Mansion is a ride at the center of a lawsuit, which you can read about HERE.

The Haunted Mansion was supposed to reopen today. Unfortunately, there was an unexpected delay, which you can read about here. However, the delay was only temporary, and the ride is back up and running!

The Hatbox Ghost

 A year ago, much to fans’ delight, we announced HERE that the Hatbox Ghost would be coming to Disney World! The Hatbox Ghost is a beloved component of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion, and WDW fans have been eagerly waiting.

So, of course, each time the Haunted Mansion has been closed, everyone has wondered, “IS THIS IT?” And the same was true of the recent closure.

What Changed at the Haunted Mansion?

Unfortunately for fans, this refurbishment did not include the addition of the Hatbox Ghost to the Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World. Many of you are probably unsurprised since the refurbishment was so limited.

Also, Walt Disney World did announce that this refurbishment was for routine maintenance. As you can probably ascertain, maintenance is important especially since Haunted Mansion is sure to be a popular attraction for Guests at the upcoming Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party festivities.

Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion still has no Hatbox Ghost.
