Things are moving forward over in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom with Splash Mountain becoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. See the latest here.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Splash Mountain is officially closed at both Disney World and Disneyland to make way for the new attraction, called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The ride continues where the movie left off and will introduce us to new songs, characters, and Audio-Animatronics. Click HERE to read more about the new storyline.
Right now, the only timeline we have for the ride’s opening is sometime in late 2024. However, Disney is really moving as fast as they can. We already noticed quite a bit of construction immediately after the closure of the ride in January 2023.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open sometime in 2024.
Water Tower Progress
The water tower was one of the first things we noticed when Disney shared concept art models for the new attraction. It will be located directly to the right of the mountain that you drop down.
Construction crews just added scaffolding in the area that will be the water tower. This will allow for the building of the water tower to begin! We are excited to continue checking on the progress of the water tower and other ride elements as they emerge.
What about inside?
Obviously, it is very easy to see the progress being made on the exterior of the ride. However, the interior is a different story. Since we cannot see what is going on and Disney has not provided any details, we are unsure what work is being completed inside.
With the opening happening later next year , hopefully Disney will continue to share details!

The Disney ride Tiana's Bayou Adventure would be an amazing experience! Imagine floating down a river, surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife, and being transported into the magical world of The Princess and the Frog. You could meet all the characters and even have a chance to cook up some delicious New Orleans-style food. It would be a dream come true for any Disney fan!

Looking forward to seeing the new themed ride. Hoping for the same animatronics as splash Mnt and not as many video screens as other new rides have changed to.

A bayou adventure will be fun for kids, and the new queue will help keep kids occupied with the story about growing food for Tiana's restaurant. The fun of the ride remains the same and there is a current movie to connect to today's children. I am looking forward to it.
