New Character Meet and Greet
Right now guests can enjoy a special preview of the new live-action Little Mermaid movie at the Walt Disney Presents attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This special preview is still in place today with no announced end date.
Today, May 26th, is the official release date of this new movie and Disney Parks has great experiences for guests. Check out all of the great snacks and PhotoPass photos HERE.
Many guests made their way towards the Walt Disney Presents attraction to join the queue to enjoy this brand new character interaction.
Inaccurate Wait Times
Ariel will now greet guests from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. Kenny the Pirate joined the queue at 9:35 am to get a more accurate view of wait times. When he joined the line, he was near the end of the Walt Disney Presents display area.
When you first enter, there are no posted wait or operating hours. You will not see these details until you are about to enter the actual room. At 9:35 am, a Cast Member shared that it was a 60-minute wait time.
As guests make their way through this extended queue they can enjoy artwork from the live-action film. This character queue seemed delayed due to the character taking breaks.
This is similar to the current wait times when meeting Moana at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Characters do not alternate, but guests in the queue must wait as this one character takes a break and then returns.
There are several zig-zagging lines through this last room before meeting Ariel. Many guests in line were confused and thought that they were actually meeting Halle Bailey from the live-action film. Although this is not Halle Bailey, the interaction was wonderful after a very long wait.
Although Cast Members shared a 60-minute wait time, the actual wait was 90 minutes. Yikes! Kenny the Pirate shares, “She was very personable and energetic. She talked about the fun of splashing in puddles with human feet and we discussed eating spaghetti without using a dinglehopper.”
If you really want to meet the live-action Ariel, be prepared for a bit of a wait. While meeting Moana, we suggest arriving at least 15-20 minutes before her official meeting. This allows you to be among the first in line. As always check out full character appearance times and character interaction suggestions over on Character Locator.
Although Cast Members shared a 60-minute wait time, the actual wait was 90 minutes.
