Memorial Day Weekend

Holiday weekends at Disney World are typically pretty busy.  High crowd levels are expected during the long weekend with many families off work and school. For many, summer break may kick off this upcoming weekend.

We saw late last year that Disney predicted their busiest times for 2023. This was reflected in their ticket prices, which can be read more about HERE.

Earlier this week, we shared that Orlando International Airport is prepared for massive crowds this holiday weekend. The airport released projections for travelers coming in and out.

Overall, more than 1.1 million travelers will move through the Orlando International Airport during the 7-day travel period. Be sure to check out the busiest travel days and also trips to navigate the huge crowds HERE.

But will high traffic at the airport indicate high crowds at the Disney Parks? We are starting to think not.

Moderate Crowds

Earlier this week, we shared that the variable price of Disney Genie+ along with the current wait times may indicate moderate crowds. These trends continue at the start of this holiday weekend at Walt Disney World.

What surprised us even more is that Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can enjoy Bonus Reservations for not just one, but two parks this Sunday, May 28th. Bonus Reservations are now available at both Disney’s Animal Kingdom and EPCOT for this date.

The best part is that these bonus reservations do not count against your Park Reservations number allowed. These Bonus Reservations are only announced a few days early, but this is a great perk for local Annual Passholders.

Oftentimes these Bonus Reservations are available when crowds are expected to be low or moderate. This is somewhat unprecedented for a holiday weekend. This could be a very good sign for guests visiting Walt Disney World this holiday weekend along with a fun “Bonus” for Annual Passholders.

Bonus Reservations are now available for 2 Parks this Memorial Day weekend.

With Memorial Day being the big “kickoff to summer” for many families, this moderate crowd prediction may be great news for your upcoming summer trip to Walt Disney World.

What do you think of this availability over a holiday weekend? Will you be visiting the parks? Do you think this may be a positive sign for crowd levels this summer at Walt Disney World? Share your thoughts with us in the comments and share this news with a fellow Disney pal.
