Star Wars 2023 Celebration
During the Walt Disney Imagineering panel at Star Wars Celebration 2023, Disney shared several exciting announcements. Imagineers Ann Morrow Johnson, Asa Kalama, and Matt Martin from Lucasfilm talked about how Star Wars comes to life at Disney parks.
And don’t miss the news about all of the new Star Wars films coming soon, including a sneak peek HERE. I’m (Susan) so excited that Daisy Ridley is returning as Rey in one of these upcoming films too.
Updated Attraction
In 2024, Disney is adding even more stories and characters to Star Tours at Disneyland park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disneyland Paris. Since it debuted at Disneyland in 1987 as the first Star Wars attraction in a Disney park, Star Tours has traveled to new places as this galaxy of stories expanded.
It’s exciting that Star Tours will include all new adventures. However, Disney hasn’t reveal just where guests will go yet or which new characters will be included.
In 2024, Star Tours will travel to new places and and add new characters.
New Music
And speaking of Starspeeder pilots, be sure to check out the new playlist from DJ R3X Disney just released. It features more favorite tracks you may hear when you visit Oga’s Cantina on Batuu. Turns out R3X may just be a better DJ than pilot!
Second, Disney announced a Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser playlist that launches next month on streaming platforms to celebrate May the 4th. This soundtrack includes songs from galactic superstar Gaya, who performs aboard the Halcyon starcruiser as part of that amazing, fully immersive experience.
Disney is also working on a special 12-inch vinyl pressing of Gaya’s music, so be on the lookout for that.
A playlist of music by Gaya from Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be released on May 4, 2023 for digital streaming.
New Characters
Recently, the Mandalorian and Grogu were added to the character lineup at Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. See tips on how to meet them HERE.
