Epcot has been a maze of construction walls for the last few years. However, a new walkway is open which makes it easier to navigate the park!
Epcot Reimagined
At the last D23 event in September 2019, Disney announced a ton of projects for Epcot. This ultimately led to a complete overhaul of the park.
We have seen several of those projects completed like the addition of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, the reimagining of Mouse Gears (into Creations Shop) and Club Cool, and the overhaul of the park’s entrance.
In addition, the Moana Journey of Water attraction will open later this year, and Dreamer’s Point with the Walt Disney statue will also debut soon. The newly reimagined EPCOT will be completed in late 2023. Check out this timeline HERE.
Construction Walls
Due to the building of the Moana Journey of Water attraction and the park entrance’s overhaul, Epcot has been a major maze of construction walls for the last 3+ years. It is certainly not fun navigating the park, and it can be easy to get turned around.
In particular, the walkways between World Nature, World Celebration, and World Discovery have been closed for many years. Walking from Soarin’ to Test Track, for example, requires a lot more steps.
Progress
Epcot recently opened a walkway connecting World Celebration and World Nature! This makes it easier to get from The Seas with Nemo and Friends to Spaceship Earth. At this time, there is nothing connecting World Celebration to World Discovery or World Nature to World Discovery.
Hopefully that will come sooner rather than later, but for now we are happy with the progress being made in this area.
Has it been difficult for you to navigate Epcot with all these construction walls? Are you happy to see the new walkway is open? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to share this post with a friend who has also been frustrated with the Epcot maze!
