Josh D’Amaro shares why he is amazed by recent theme park additions and what is coming to the parks.
Current Projects
In a recent interview, Josh D’Amaro shared thoughts on recent and upcoming projects.
“Our Imagineers, our entire team, are incredibly ambitious about the experiences here and how it will continue to grow and evolve. You’ve seen it come to life with the 50th anniversary coming out of the pandemic and how we stood right back up and brought back all the things people love and added new things. You have seen it at Epcot — it’s totally transforming — and that will continue to transform.”

Other new attractions new attractions include Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, which opened at Epcot last year, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, another Epcot ride that opened at the start of Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021.
In addition, Disney 100 Years of Wonder is the largest cross-company global celebration in the 100-year history of The Walt Disney Company. Disney Parks around the world will celebrate the 100th anniversary, with the heart of the celebration at Disneyland Resort.
Blue Sky Ideas
In what Josh D’Amaro explained as “blue sky,” or something that is entirely new, at the fall D23 Expo, there is something new coming to Animal Kingdom. At that time, he hinted Zootopia and Moana may be coming and even shared concept art of a Moana area.
Then, he shared that Magic Kingdom is getting an expansion. The D23 team said that this expansion came from imagining what could lie beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. With this announcement, many blue sky ideas were announced included a Villains Land, Coco, and Encanto.
Looking Ahead
Iger shared in a recent interview that park capacity will be increased without overcrowding the theme parks. To do this, he stated that Disney Parks would get new attractions and experiences to spread out crowds. Then, Josh D’Amaro hinted at the unlimited possibilities.
“Tron is spectacular, and adding something of this size and scope to the most visited theme park in the world is pretty ambitious and incredible. You see the guests walking off that experience … the look on their faces — and it adds to the whole experience we offer here. But there’s no end … Tron is the tip of the iceberg of what’s coming.”

I am DVC and I totally agree with you! Parks are jus too crowded now. Adding one more land I park will not be great if they don’t restrict crowding.

Need another Park and less DVC hotels. Parks are getting overcrowded and we need space to fit everyone

Just have Genie + reservations IN ADVANCE! 3 rides in one day - at least reserved a week or few days in advance! We have to reserve the park in advance. What's so hard to allow reserving rides in advance. Then it would be worth the extra money.
