If you are staying at a Magic Kingdom Resort, you need to be aware of these late night disruptions.
Magic Kingdom Resorts
There are five resorts that are very close to the Magic Kingdom. Disney’s Polynesian and Contemporary opened in 1971 along with the park. Fort Wilderness opened later in 1971.
The Grand Floridian opened in 1988, and Wilderness Lodge followed several years later in 1994. Shades of Green is not a Disney owned and operated resort, but it is a short walk away from the Polynesian.
I have done an extension comparison of these Magic Kingdom resorts, which you can read about in this guide.
Late Night Disruptions
If you are staying at any of these resorts in the next few days, you need to be aware of late night disruptions that will occur. Beginning tonight, November 12 and ending on Monday, November 14 Disney will launch fireworks.
The testing will take place between 11:30 pm and approximately 2:00 am. They will be light and also bright, so it’s good to be aware of this to make adjustments as needed. This may include playing a sound machine and closing your curtains.
Here is the official announcement from Disney:
Tonight through Nov. 14, we will be launching fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park between 11:30 p.m. and approximately 2 a.m. We apologize to our neighbors and Guests for this late-night inconvenience.
We are unsure if this is for Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, Disney Enchantment, or perhaps the new Happily Ever After fireworks show that will debut in 2023. It may be worth getting out late at night to check them out!
