Fun Disney Transportation

Disney Parks offer so many unique and fun ways to get around the parks and resorts. At Disney World, those options include the monorail, Skyliner, and boats. Since the parks and resorts span so many square miles, it is very helpful to have so many different modes of transportation.

How fun is it to hop aboard the Skyliner or zoom around in the monorail? Sometimes they can seem like an attraction as well!

In Disneyland, Guests can get around via the monorail and by foot. Since Disneyland is much smaller, park hopping and getting back to your hotel is much quicker and easier! In California Adventure, the Red Car Trolleys gives Guests a lift around the park.

Hop aboard a charming vintage trolley for a scenic ride through Buena Vista Street and Hollywood Land. The Red Car Trolleys are modeled after the Pacific Electric Railway trolleys that crisscrossed the Los Angeles area from 1887 until 1961, with more than 1,000 miles of active track.

Trolleys run continuously between the following locations*:

  • Buena Vista Street near the Disney California Adventure Park Main Entrance
  • Carthay Circle across from Carthay Circle Restaurant
  • Hollywood Boulevard near the Disney Animation building
  • Sunset Boulevard near the Hyperion Theater

*Note there is no stop in Avengers Campus.

Unfortunately, the Trolleys have not been in service since the parks reopened in April 2021. However, Guests are in for a real treat because they return this weekend!

Red Car Trolleys will transport Guests once again beginning July 17, 2022.

It is so great seeing things return to operation in the parks! My (Monica) family is making our first visit to Disneyland soon, and I am hopeful we can have as normal of an experience as possible.
