Are you heading to Disney World this week? There is a NEW souvenir for you to take home. Read on to find out when and where to get it!
50th Celebration
Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary! As you may know, Disney knows how to put on a celebration.
This celebration lasts for 18 months! If you haven’t gotten a chance to join in on the celebration, there is still time.
With this big anniversary you can find many ways to celebrate, from special 50th Anniversary treats to the Cinderella Castle decked out for the occasion.
Animal Kingdom
When visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you may have heard of Disney’s Conservation Fund. This program has done some pretty amazing things too!
Disney’s Conservation Fund was created in 1995. Over past 27 years they have awarded more than $100 million to conservation projects that work to save wildlife, protect our planet, and inspire us to take action.
Another fun thing that Disney Conservation Fund does is recognize individuals and teams who work hard to save wildlife and get the community involved in conservation efforts. These individuals are called Conservation Heroes. To be nominated the organization must have previously received a grant from Disney Conservation Fund.
New Conservation Hero Button
One fun souvenir is the Disney buttons! There is now a new button to collect, however they are only available while supplies last! These buttons not only celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, but also World Environment Day. This EARidescent Disney Conservation Hero button features some pretty amazing characters too!
Find these buttons starting this week at select merchandise and food and beverage locations at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Be sure to grab yours and ask a Cast Member how you can help the Disney Conservation Fund too!
What do you think of these new Conservation Hero buttons? Will you be getting one to show off that you are a Conservation Hero? Let us know on the Kenny the Pirate Facebook page. Don’t forget to join the KtP crew page too!
