Refurbishments
Refurbishments are an unavoidable theme park reality. Unfortunately sometimes attractions must close to guests to provide a safe and pleasant guest experience.
Sometimes these closures affect fan travel dates, so it is important to stay on top of them so that you can manage your expectations. However, a change in the refurbishment schedule can mean that one of your favorites may be available during your vacation dates after all!
Disneyland Monorail System
There are 2 Monorail stations at the Disneyland Resort. Guests enter the Disneyland Monorail inside Disneyland Park at the Tomorrowland station right above Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. The second entrance is in Downtown Disney and it takes you into Disneyland Park.
Aboard the Disneyland Monorail, guests will enjoy one-of-a-kind views on during a 2.5-mile, 13-minute round-trip journey. The ride includes views of Disneyland Resort as well as Disney California Adventure Park. It also passes through Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa and the Downtown Disney District.
Refurbishment Delays
Originally, the Disneyland Monorail was supposed to undergo refurbishment beginning on January 24, 2022. You can see the original story from Susan right here. However, that date has been delayed!
According to Disneyland’s website, the refurbishment will be delayed for several weeks. The temporary closure due to refurbishment will now begin on February 14, 2022.
So, now guests with plans to visit Disneyland between January 24 and February 13, 2022 will be able to enjoy the iconic attraction. Hopefully this will bring some extra magic to your trip if these are your dates!
The Disneyland Monorail will now temporarily close for refurbishment on Feburary 13, 2022 with no known reopening date.
There is no known end date for the refurbishment as of yet. However, your KtP writing team will keep you updated and provide that information when it arrives.

Monorail runs through but doesn't stop at the Grand Californian.

This sucks! We have reservations for the first week in March for the parks and Disneyland Hotel. The ease of accessing the hotel via the monorail was a big reason we are staying there.

I am upset as was planning our first trip to DL the 3rd week in March and was looking to riding the monorail in DL and staying at the Grand Californian Hotel which from your article the monorail runs through it. As I have mobility issues was planning to use the monorail to help get around. Bummer!
