The celebrations will begin on October 1, 2021 and will run 18 months. The special events and entertainment will continue until the spring of 2023.
50th Anniversary Castle Makeover
While the new colors took a while to grow on me (Susan), now I just love the new look of Cinderella Castle. The pink and blue EARidescent colors are amazing!
Merchandise
Disney World released pre-50th celebration merchandise last month that sold out quickly. It’s unclear whether or not this line will return, but I suspect it will. Also, new 50th merchandise is available at Disney World shops now! I’m enjoying everything Cinderella themed.
Beginning September 28, “Walt Disney World: A Portrait of the First Half Century” will be available for purchase. This coffee table book features the history and changes to Disney World over the last 50 years.
More 50th Details Released
All four parks will feature golden character sculptures. Disney is slowly sharing them one-by-one each day. Check out our sneak peek of the new costumes Mickey and Minnie and our other pals featuring special EARidescent fabric with embroidery of Cinderella Castle.
In addition, each Disney World theme park will receive icon makeovers as well as new fireworks in Magic Kingdom and EPCOT beginning October 1. Animal Kingdom will have a new daytime show featuring colorful kites.

Transportation Included in Celebration
Guests have spotted new transportation wraps on the skyliner gondolas and Disney buses! We’re excited about this extra touch. Mickey and Minnie in the EARidescent outfits are featured on the buses.
Love the royal blue and gold colors included in the decorations also. John is ready to have fun driving guests around!
