Have you ever wondered how Disney adds magical touches throughout the Parks? Check out this video as Cinderella Castle receives the royal treatment in preparation for the 50th Anniversary celebrations.
Timeline for Cinderella Castle Transformation
Prior to the closure of the Walt Disney Parks in March 2020, we learned that work would be completed to give a fresh look to Cinderella Castle. As we visited the Magic Kingdom, this new color scheme was met with very mixed emotions from Disney fans.
Not only was our favorite park icon receiving new paint, but Cinderella Castle would also receive royal embellishments for this Golden Anniversary. Beautiful golden ribbons and jewels were draped along Cinderella Castle.
Earlier this week we shared beautiful photos of the newest additions to the turrets of Cinderella Castle. They are now perfectly accented with golden ribbons. In addition to the previously added bunting, the Castle is now accented with glistening jewels as well. Check out the full updated look to Cinderella Castle HERE.
Golden touches and jewels have been added nightly to Cinderella Castle to complete the transformation for the 50th Anniversary Celebration later this year.
When I viewed these beautiful images of Cinderella Castle, I couldn’t help but wonder how they were able to make this beautiful transformation. Today, Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley shared a video of the installation of one of these golden ribbon accents. It is like a beautifully choreographed dance.
Riddley shares, “More ribbons have been installed on Cinderella Castle this week and I just had to share a video captured during one of the installs. These fit just like a glass slipper…And that’s no fairy tale- our team digitally modeled each turret on Cinderella Castle to achieve the perfect fit.”
The precision and care used to add these golden touches is simply amazing. We continue to be amazed at the wonderful work and innovation of Disney Imagineers and Cast Members. They truly do make everything a bit more magical at the Disney Parks.
