Park Pass Reservations

Initially, the parks were operating at a maximum of 25% capacity. In an effort to maintain Park Capacity limits, a new system was introduced known as the Park Reservation. Guests with a valid Theme Park ticket or Annual Pass would also need to secure a Park Reservation for the Park they would be visiting.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek said that the 25% cap was their initial industrial engineering estimate to maintain 6 feet social distancing.  During a quarterly financial call last November, he shared that they safely increased Park Capacity to 35%.

Will there be an increase to the Park Capacity? During a Q1 earnings call, Chapek stated that park capacity would increase based upon the COVID-19 vaccination rate. Currently, the Disney Parks have not reached capacity with the exception of a few dates around the holidays.

Park Pass Reservations Here to Stay

When the Park Pass reservation system was first introduced, reservations were only available through September of 2021. A few months later, reservations were extended into 2022. With the new packages released, the reservation system has been extended yet again until January 2023.

It appears that the Park Pass Reservation system will be with us for quite some time even with the hope that Park capacity will soon be increased.

More Park Passes Available

Many Disney fans are preparing to enjoy Walt Disney World this coming March and April for both Spring Break and the Easter holiday. Many Guests discovered that a few days were sold out for Disney’s Hollywood Studios for both March and April.

We have seen a trend that Disney’s Hollywood Studios tends to sell out earlier than the other Theme Parks. Today, Park Passes are now available at all 4 Theme Parks for Resort Guests in March and April.

This is great news for Guests visiting the Parks in the near future. Walt Disney World continues to encourage Guests to secure your Park Pass early as capacity is often filled.

This doesn't necessarily make me happy. I planned way ahead and have had my park passes booked for March. Does the availability of more park passes now mean that there will be more people and I'm going to have to wait in even longer lines? Not happy.

Wife and I are AP's .My children and grandchildren were coming from Tx for 8 days and staying with us as we have a large home next to Disney property. They can make reservations for entire 8 days but we are only able to make 3 reservations at a time . If I can't get same reservations as my family , we can't join them. I've spoken to customer relations who have documented my grievance. I've decided to take the 18k disney would have made off me and take them to Hawaii. More than disappointed in WDW.
