Fortune has once again listed the “World’s Most Admired Companies” for 2021. What does this ranking mean and how does the Walt Disney Company rank among fellow businesses?

The Fortune “World’s Most Admired” list is quite different than the Fortune 500 list which ranks businesses based on size and revues. The ranking qualities to be considered one of the “World’s Most Admired Companies” involves the perception of the general public.

Korn Ferry is a large management consulting firm that collaborates with Fortune to create the ranking for this list. A network is formed that helps to determine the Most Admired list. This network is formed from a board of directors, executives, and analysts that daily observe these companies.

  • Community Responsibility

How Does the Walt Disney Company Rank?

The entertainment industry took a large hit during 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19. Even while other entertainment industries were suffering, the Walt Disney Company were able to shift their focus to Disney+.

In October, Disney CEO, Bob Chapek, announced a major restructuring of the Walt Disney Company. With recent changes, streaming is now the most important aspect of the Walt Disney Company. For the 3rd straight year, the Walt Disney Company has maintained their rank as the “World’s 4th Most Admired Company.” This year, only 3 companies are ranked higher including Apple at #1, Amazon at #2, and Microsoft at #3.
