Back in June, we brought you news that the Award-winning Gideon’s Bakehouse was coming to Disney Springs this year. It has officially opened to to an overwhelming reception and is ready to offer a new special treat!
In December, Gideon’s Bakehouse opened its doors for a short-lived soft opening which was met with long wait times and eager enthusiasm by fans dying to get their hands on one of these decadent treats.
After a short, temporary closing, Gideon’s Bakehouse had its grand opening day on January 16, 2021 and guests were so excited to get their hands on these cookies they lined up early to get a place in the virtual queue.
THE VIRTUAL QUEUE WAS FINALLY CLOSED OFF LESS THAN AN HOUR AFTER GIDEON’S BAKEHOUSE OPENED. THE FINAL QUEUE WAS GIVEN AN 11 HOUR RETURN TIME!
Now 11 hours may seem a bit excessive to wait for an ordinary cookie, but Gideon’s Bakehouse fans know that these cookies are anything BUT ordinary.
Gideon’s Bakehouse
Gideon’s Bakehouse’s original store opened in 2016 in the East End Market. With just $800 in the budget, no investors, and one employee, they quickly grew to become a world renowned bakery.
Gideon’s prides itself on it’s attention to detail and theming. Nothing is done by accident.
Even the gargoyle that sits at the top of the new bakery location has a great a backstory!
“At 5:18 am on December 18th, 2020, a mysterious creature flew over our Bakehouse at Disney Springs, stole our G, and perched atop the building. He has yet to move, and we have a feeling he might stay. We are in possession of the journal of Jonathan Lindwurm, the original shop owner of the space we occupy. With it, we hope to uncover the history of this new guardian of Gideon.”

February Limited Edition Offerings
Eternal Flame Cookie
Each month, Gideon’s Bakehouse releases a limited edition cookie flavor. December’s cookies featured both the Cookie Vom Krampus and the Santa’s White Cookie Flavors, while January featured a Coffee Toffee Chocolate Chip cookie.
For the month of February, guests who like sweet and spicy cominbations will fall in love for the Eternal Flame Cookie.
The Eternal Flame Cookie is a velvety five flavor chocolate cookie laced with Gideon’s special house-made Ancho, Cayenne, and Cinnamon Spice Mix and topped with Chocolate Covered Cherries.
“It’s a deep chocolate flavor followed by the tingling warmth of a first kiss and sweet aftertaste of cherries. The one you’ve been waiting for your entire life is here, and it loves you without condition, eternally.”
Double The HEAT
For those of you who can’t get enough spice in your food, you’ll want to try the Eternal Flame with double the heat alongside the regular edition for a limited time. Red sugar crystals on top of the Cookie differentiate this 2X Limited Edition.
Eternal Flame Double Frosted Cake
But wait…there’s more! Gideon’s is also offering the Eternal Flame in a double frosted cake, too!
The cake is a 3-layer chocolate cake covered in two full layers of Buttercream! The inner layer is a classic Cherry Buttercream that perfectly compliments an outer layer of rich Dark Chocolate Fudge Buttercream flavored with our Ancho, Cayenne, and Cinnamon Spice.
For that added crunch, the exterior is covered with Dark Chocolate Cookie Wafer Crumbs.
The Eternal Flame Double Frosted Cake is available as a whole cake via East End Market Preorder this month and by the slice at both locations each weekend of February (while supplies last).
