Disney’s most generous offers for our Armed Forces have been extended into 2021! There are a few very important changes though that you need to be aware of, which stem from the extension of the current offer and Disney’s plans for the 50th anniversary. Find all the details here.

Military Special Rates for Disney Resort Hotels

Disney is proud to offer special discounts for the military. Eligible personnel can enjoy fantastic discounts on resort hotels and steep discounts for tickets. As the spouse of a retired service member, I appreciate that Disney generously offers these discounts.

For 2021, Disney is offering great military rates again! Here are the details:

This offer is for active or retired U.S. military personnel (including active or retired members of the National Guard, Reservists, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service (PHS), and the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Spouses of military service members and PHS and NOAA Commissioned Corps members also qualify if they are able to present valid and active U.S. military IDs in the absence of active or retired military personnel or Commissioned Corps members.

This offer excludes Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort.

The exclusion of Bay Lake Tower and Riviera is new for 2021 so be aware of this if you want to book a stay here!

Additionally, this offer excludes the following room types:

  • 3-bedroom villas
  • suites in Moderate and Deluxe Resort hotels
  • campsites
  • Cabins at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

Travel is good for most dates through December 17, 2021 and the maximum number of nights this offer is good for is 14 nights. The website does not specify the exact discounts. However, in years past the discount has been 30% off for value resorts, 35% off for moderate resorts, and 40% off for deluxe resorts.

Military Special Rates for Theme Park Tickets

Things get a little hairy with the extension of 2020 tickets into September 2021. Previously, we shared that Guests with the specially priced tickets could use the 2020 tickets until September 26, 2021.

Ticket prices for eligible members (eligibility is noted above) are as follows:

6-Day Military Promotional Tickets

Purchase now through December 18, 2020 (extended through February 14, 2021*) With the Park Hopper Option: $301 plus tax

5-Day Military Promotional Tickets

Purchase now through December 18, 2020 (extended through February 14, 2021*) With the Park Hopper Option: $283 plus tax

4-Day Military Promotional Tickets

Purchase now through December 18, 2020 (extended through February 14, 2021*) With the Park Hopper Option: $265 plus tax

The tickets are valid through September 26, 2021 with no blockout dates.

Disney Military Tickets have been Extended!

Disney just revealed that they are extending this special offer. They state, “Beginning December 19, 2020 through February 14, 2021, each Eligible Service Member or spouse may purchase up to 6 Military Promotional Tickets.

Notwithstanding any subsequent offers of the Disney Military Promotional Ticket, no more than six (6) Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased (and if applicable) activated by any Eligible Service Member or spouse during the period of December 19, 2020 through December 31, 2021 (e.g., Eligible Service Members or spouses who purchase six (6) Disney Military Promotional Tickets during the period of December 19, 2020 through February 14, 2021 will not be eligible for any subsequent offers of the Disney Military Promotional Tickets in 2021).

During each offer period (that is, the January 1, 2020 through December 18, 2020 offer period and the December 19, 2020 through February 14, 2020 offer period), no more than six (6) Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased by any Eligible Service Member or spouse (regardless of the place of purchase and whether purchased by that person or that person’s spouse).”

According to Disney’s wording, it appears as if you can purchase up to 12 discounted tickets IF you purchase one set of 6 tickets before December 19 and a second set of 6 tickets between December 19 and February 14!

However, both sets of tickets (purchased before December 19 and purchased between December 19 and February 14) expire on September 26, 2021. As we know, Disney is preparing for the 50th anniversary and larger than normal crowds. I was personally hoping they would expire in December 2021 like in years past because my family intends to visit late next fall.

Military Special Rates for Memory Maker

Disney is also extending the current Memory Maker product offer through February 14, 2021. In years past, the discount has been approximately $100, but the website does not include the cost now.

The website states, “During each offer period (that is, the January 1, 2020 through December 18, 2020 offer period and the December 19, 2020 through February 14, 2020 offer period), no more than two (2) Memory Maker products may be purchased by an Eligible Service Member or their spouse (but not both).”

My understanding of this would indicate 2 could be purchased during each offer period, meaning a total of 4 could be purchased.

What do you think of the changes to the 2021 Armed Forces discount? Will you be taking full advantage by purchasing within the two offer periods? Share your travel plans with us on Facebook, and share this post with your military friends! Thank you for your service!

Any thoughts on if these will be extended for 2022?

I'm sure it will. The last year and a half has been a mess with them extending the 2020 tickets and overlapping with the 2021 but hopefully 2022 will be back to "normal."
