I was able to hotel-hop, shop and eat quick-service without reservations or issues all this week at the Poly, Wilderness, and BLT. We took a lyft in-between resorts and the security just said "Welcome home" and got the lyft driver's license.

I guess I will spend less money there. I love to get Kona bagged coffee to take back home and have only seen it at the Polynesian Resort, and the Grand Floridian for gift items sold only there. I guess they don't want me shopping and spending money.

I think the issue is that the article above says that guests with valid resort reservations can “hotel-hop” for dining, shopping and other recreational activities (sans swimming). This is not actually the case. If you don’t have table-service at a resort, or a reservation at that resort, you’re not getting in. We experienced this last week and due to the very slow nature of email responses from Disney, just got email today verifying that there is no hotel-hopping without a table-service reservation.

This was communicated in the reopening information. Resort pool hopping is not available. Dinning reservations or room reservation are required to visit another DVC resort.

We stayed at DVC this week (BLT), and can say that while DVC Member Services may indicate on the phone that “resort hopping is available” for dining, shopping, etc. it is not.

DVC staff at your hotel will tell you it is not available, and security at other resorts will only allow you in to that property if you have (1) a hotel reservation for that specific resort; or (2) a table-service reservation for that specific resort.
