Disney releases official Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party dates and costume guidelines for parties
Disney just released the official dates and costume guidelines for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for 2016!
Here is the full list of this year's dates:
- September - 2, 8, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25, 29, 30
- October - 2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31
"New this year, we have revised our costuming guidelines for special events in our theme parks. While costumed attire may be worn, guests ages 14 and older are strongly discouraged from wearing layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body as they may be subject to additional security screening. Additionally, costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon."
No date has been mentioned for ticket sales to begin, nor cost for the event. Last year it began on April 8. No mention of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party either. I'll update my Crowd Calendar now since September 2 & 8 are confirmed dates.

Our vacation is 10/12-17 and we want to go to the party for the first time. Would you recommend Thurs Fri or Sun?
I like Sun
Thank you
Looking at Oct 23-29...do you think the Tues party will be nuts? Do you think HS (one of our fave parks) will close early? We like staying at the parks late, but looks like WDW is cutting hours at HS lately....and not as many night EMH :(
DHS will be offering fireworks and Fantasmic, so it will remain open as long as last year.
Kenny, need your opinion please! What would be best? Going all day MK then party on Sun 9/25 or Thurs 9/29 and then going for another MK day on Fri 9/30 (Morning EMH day and we are offsite)? Or, do the party on Fri 9/30 and make the other party days be our MK days? Thanks!
I don't like Fri parties because locals come out that night.
Thanks! I was thinking that would be the worst party night too. But, what about going to MK on Fri 9/30 as one of our days? We are offsite and it is morning EMH, but it is also a party night. Good or bad? Thanks so much!
Good day. Use the EMH that day.
Well I would use the EMH, but we are offsite ;) That's why I'm not sure if we should still go that day, being that it is a party night too, and maybe not as busy as normal EMH days??
Don't visit park on emh day, if you don't have that privilege
Kenny, since we won't be able to stay king enough to do both MNSSHP & MVMCP would you recommend doing two nights of Halloween party like 30th & 31st?
It would allow you to do everything if you did 2 nights.
Kenny, the hocus pocus villains spectacular is coming back = no villains again
Good on you! Totally on top of your game with so much information, BEST site ever!!!
My wife and I just booked a hotel for Oct 10 - 14th for Anaheim, If these dates are the same for Disneyland we lose four of our five nights in the park. That is some serious BS.
Disneyland also offers a party. Has for years. Dates aren't announced yet.
My last experience was terrible and we have been several times. Probably won't go back unless they reduce the ticket sales for each night.
Would you go 9/29 Thursday or 10/2 sunday?
We went on first party last year which was disaster
Thanks for your help!
10/2
Can I ask why it was a disaster? I am on the fence about going to the Halloween or Christmas party.
I won't reply for the person, but I had a great night and met a lot of characters. It was busy, but most parties are these days.
Wow, that's 29 dates. That seems like a lot more than usual. Maybe that will spread the crowds out a bit more or they will limit the number of tickets each night a little more. It has definitely gotten more crowded .
Yes it is more dates
Additional Screening is OK. I am glad they are still allowing costumes!
Kenny, do you think Sunday night Sept. 25th is better than Thru. Sept 29th?
