Stricter Restrictions Affect More Disney World Resort Pools

First, Disney added restrictions to free transportation, and now new restrictions are being added for resort pools. See the full details before your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

Each Disney World resort has a feature pool, and most have other "quiet pools," which are great for relaxing. The pools are especially nice during the hot months, which, realistically, are March through November!

Did you know moderate and deluxe resorts have a slide in their feature pool? Value resorts do not!

There are a few rules for the pools at Disney World. And more are coming…

Disney Pool Wristbands

Of course, standard pool rules apply at Disney World. Small kids should wear swim diapers, don't swim if you've been sick, etc. However, a big pool rule specific to Walt Disney World is that you cannot pool hop. This means you cannot swim at a pool that you are not staying at.

For most of the pools, this is not a big deal. However, for bigger feature pools like Stormalong Bay, this can become a problem because of its popularity.

Guests of Disney's Beach and Yacht Club are given wristbands and must use a MagicBand or room key to access the pool. This keeps non-Guests out of this amazing pool. This also expanded to Caribbean Beach back in 2024, and to Disney's Port Orleans-French Quarter Doubloon Lagoon Pool earlier this year.

Disney's BoardWalk Inn Pool Restriction

It appears Disney is testing this wristband feature at Disney's BoardWalk Inn. A sign is now posted outside the Doubloon Lagoon Pool stating, "Welcome! The Luna Park Pool is for the exclusive use of Disney's BoardWalk Inn Guests only."

Wristbands are now being issued at Disney's BoardWalk Inn's Luna Park Pool.

A Cast Member is stationed by the gate, checking for resort reservations and issuing wristbands.

Many Guests would love to enjoy this 200-foot waterslide, but now with this new restriction, if you do not have a reservation at Disney's BoardWalk Inn, you will be unable to enter the pool area.
