Live-Action Tangled
Live-action movie remakes of Disney classics may be divisive, but they have the potential to be big money earners. Disney has seen great success with films such as the live action Lilo & Stitch.
However, the live action Snow White did not do as well. Fans seem to be showing preferences for films that stick closer to the animated stories that bring about nostalgia for them.
Disney already released that Australian actress Teagan Croft will play Rapunzel. Milo Manheim, who you may know from Zombies, will play Flynn Rider!
D23: Live-Action Tangled
Of course, many Disney fans were divided as to who would be the perfect villain, Mother Gothel for this live-action remake.
Kathryn Hahn was cast as Mother Gothel and Disney fans love this choice. Hahn took the stage last night at he D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event to bring us our first look at this new film.
Hahn took the stage thanking Disney fans for manifesting her as Mother Gothel. She describes Mother Gothel as "stunning, hilarious, fab, kind, generous to a fault, and a little overprotective, but that's because she cares so much!"
Hahn sums it best that Mother Gothel is the best kind of Disney villain because she is the one that thinks she is actually the hero.
Live-Action Tangled Release Date
Hahn shares that they are currently filming the live-action Tangled all across Spain. We also have a new release date for the live-action Tangled film of March 31, 2028.
