Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is undergoing a BIG transformation, and it's a bit of a mess right now.
Disney prepares Guests for an upcoming traffic pattern change near Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Guests with upcoming reservations (dining and room) have been notified by email of this upcoming change.
The bus stop at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort was temporarily relocated last December. Today, July 13, 2026, a new bus stop just opened at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace Closed
Trader Sam's is a popular spot for many guests visiting Disney's Polynesian Resort. The most coveted location to visit is located indoors. However, the wait times are quite long.
Many Guests choose to bypass the long line and enjoy the outdoor extension better known as Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace. In April, this outdoor location closed for an extended refurbishment.
The indoor bar, better known as the Trader Sam's Grog Grotto, has remained open even during this closure.
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace Extended Closure
Originally, the refurbishment of Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace was estimated to last through late June 2026. Now, as we are almost mid-July, there is still no opening timeline provided for Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace.
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace closed in April 2026, and no reopening timeline has been provided.
The current Walt Disney World calendar extends until September 11, 2026, with no operating hours offered for Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace.
