Magic Kingdom Secretly Begins a New Refurbishment

Magic Kingdom began a secret refurbishment. See which attraction is now affected.

Refurbishments are a part of life at Disney Parks. These may take place for various reasons. Whether it be for mechanical issues or cosmetic updates, a refurbishment can take place for many reasons.

Based on the nature of the work, the refurbishment may take a few days or several months. Although refurbishments occur throughout the year, Walt Disney World tends to begin many refurbishments in the slower months of January and February.

When possible, Disney will try to complete work while the attraction remains operational.

Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse

In 2024, Magic Kingdom's Swiss Family Robinson attraction was closed for refurbishment. This work was extended for 2 additional months and finally fully reopened in 2025.

Recently, Magic Kingdom began work on Swiss Family Robinson, but has not shared news of this refurbishment. Guests notice a scrim added to the back of this attraction.

Many times, scrim is a neutral tan and is a bit of an eyesore. For this refurbishment, the scenic landscape somewhat blends in with the skyline.

At this time, Guests can still enjoy the entire Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse attraction with normal operating hours.

Swiss Family Robinson is undergoing a refurbishment with scrim in place.

It is unclear what the scope of this refurbishment is and if it may expand over the next few days and months.
