What This Disney World Travel Advisory Means for Your Trip

Over the past several months, we have shared warnings for high winds, fire bans, filming locations throughout the Disney Parks, attraction closures, and even earthquakes.
Walt Disney World issues many warnings throughout the year to help keep Guests and Cast Members safe.
With a Theme Park located in Central Florida, most often the warnings we think of first are regarding hurricanes and tropical storms.
Heat Advisory and Thunderstorm Warning

A third concern also affects a Florida Theme Park, and that is extreme heat. Many guests are well aware that the summers at Walt Disney World can be hot. This may be why summer is the cheapest time to visit Walt Disney World.
Today, June 19, 2026, the National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for all East Central Florida counties, which includes the Walt Disney World Resort. This begins at 11:00 am and ends at 7:00 pm.
Dangerous heat is expected with temperatures in the mid to upper 90's, but this will feel like 105° to 110°. The National Weather Service ranks today as a Level 3 Major Heat Risk.

The National Weather Service warns of a marginal risk for severe storms, including wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail up to 1 inch in diameter, frequent/excessive lightning, and heavy rainfall (1-5" possible).
Walt Disney World has not yet made changes to entertainment due to this heat advisory and thunderstorm warning. However, this is subject to change. Check out entertainment changes in the past HERE.
Tips to Stay Cool at Disney
