Since Disney+ first began streaming in 2019, each month, new content is added. Each month is almost like Christmas to see what new streaming surprises we can enjoy.

Nature was something near and dear to Walt Disney's heart. He created a series of films labeled True-Life Adventure Series that told the story of various animals found in nature. These films were featured from 1948-1966 and saw great success, and they even won several Academy Awards.

Since 2020, National Geographic has helped carry on this Earth Day tradition by adding great programming every year.

Secrets of the Bees

James Cameron serves as the executive producer of the two-part documentary "Secrets of the Bees". The primary goal is to help us all understand, even you Winnie the Pooh, that there is more to a beehive than simply honey. A colony of bees is a "living city".

Dr. Ramsey shares, "I want to highlight the intelligence of bees. Most people think insects are just little robots executing tasks, but when you see the incredible ways they communicate and interact with the world, your mind will be blown."

During this documentary, you will learn how important pollinators are in our ecosystem and what we can do to help save these gentle wonders in our own neighborhoods.

This series includes Episode 1: "The Hive" and Episode 2: "The Pollinators". Both episodes are now available for streaming on Disney+. As a "Backyard Beekeeper", I (Donna) am very excited to watch this new documentary.

The voice of our favorite huggable snowman, Olaf, Josh Gad, narrates the brand new Disneynature Orangutan film. Gad introduces us to Indah, a young Orangutan, as she leaves her nest.

We are invited to come on an "extraordinary journey of courage, family, and belonging". Disneynature Orangutan is available for streaming on Earth Day, April 22, 2026.
