Disney Issues Suprising Change for Dining Reservations

One of the best advanced dining reservation updates for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland allowed guests to use a similar calendar as used to make Theme Park reservations to allow guests to check dining availability over multiple days.

This was a great change, but soon this flopped when a huge technical glitch resulted once Beak and Barrel dining reservations were available.

As Disney prepared to open Advanced Dining Reservations again, they made a BIG change. When guests attempt to make an Advanced Dining Reservation on the app, they are redirected to the Walt Disney World website. Thankfully, this later changed.

Previously, when Guests made their Advanced Dining Reservations, they were given the option to share food allergies and food intolerances. Now this option is omitted when making an advanced dining reservation.

There is still an option to click for "Dietary Requests", but this screen now shares that "Guests must notify their server about any allergy-friendly requests."

This is also accompanied by a warning, "While we take steps to help mitigate cross-contact, we cannot guarantee that any item is completely free of allergens."

Guests should speak directly to servers at dining locations to share their dietary concerns prior to ordering food. Disney warns, "It is ultimately our Guests' discretion to make an informed choice based upon their individual dietary needs."

Many Guests have applauded Disney Parks for accommodating many dietary needs and requests. This new change seems to be a step backward from this goal.
