Many do not often consider cold weather warnings and winter weather advisories when visiting "Florida: the Sunshine State", but this month has been plagued with them.

The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Watch for Central Florida starting Saturday, January 31st evening and ending the afternoon of Sunday, February 1st.

Wind chills are predicted to be at 7°. According to meteorologists at WESH2, "By Sunday morning, temperatures may plunge into the mid to upper 20s across much of Central Florida, creating some of the coldest weather seen in a decade."

Volcano Bay will be closed today Saturday, January 31st and Sunday, February 1st, due to inclement weather. Tonight, lows will be in the 20's with highs tomorrow only reaching the mid 50's.

Universal Orlando encourages guests to stay tuned to their social channels or call 407-817-8317 for updates.

We always recommend checking water park hours before venturing there, especially during the winter.
