Disney Could Announce Its Next CEO Next Week
Bob Iger's contract as CEO is coming to an end, and a replacement will soon be announced. Find out what we know.
Bob Iger

Bob Iger returned as Disney CEO back in November 2022. Many were hopeful that many issues would be addressed with the return of Bob Iger.
At first, Iger signed a contract for two years. His return was expected to be short, but he wanted to stay around long enough to help the board "succeed at succession".
His contract was later extended and he agreed to continue as CEO through December 31, 2026. Iger is ready to retire…again but desires a smooth transition for the upcoming CEO.
Who Could it Be?

Back in December, a report from the Wall Street Journal had Josh D'Amaro being the frontrunner for Disney's next CEO. However, Dana Walden remains his leading rival. You can read more on that report HERE.
It has been anticipated that Iger's replacement would be announced in Early 2026.
It is believed that Disney will no longer look at external hires and will find Iger's replacement from within the company. The new CEO, once chosen, will work alongside Iger before officially taking over the company.
New York Times' Report

In a recent New York Times' Report two sources close to the plans shared that the next CEO could be announced as early as next week. In the report, Josh D'Amaro is still the frontrunner for the position.
No official announcement has been made on when Disney will share who will take Bob Iger's place as CEO.
It is possible that the announcement could come on Monday, as there is a Disney's earnings report for Q1 2026.
