Disney Urges Shareholders to Vote Against a Disability Access Service Review
Disney's Disability Access Service makes headlines again, but not in a positive light. Share your thoughts if a review is needed for Disney's Disability Access Service.
Disability Access Service (DAS)

Disney Parks received much backlash when it made BIG changes to the Disability Access Service (DAS) in April 2024.
The service became much more restrictive, significantly limiting which guests could use the DAS return time system. And, changes happened to the service itself, which included both eliminating pre-selected attractions and mandating a time period of 10 minutes between redeeming one selection and making another selection.
Disney promoted the restrictions as a way to cut down on abuse and overuse of the system. However, many critics of the new policy claim the system now results in denials and prevents access to some guests with legitimate disabilities.
DAS Review

Disney's DAS received negative headlines back in 2025 when "shareholders requested that Disney commission an independent review, conducted by a qualified third party of the company's DAS program."(DAS Shareholder Resolution)
This review would not make operational changes, but rather provide an impartial review and share transparent findings with Disney Shareholders.
Disney shares the following information with Shareholders before the Annual Meeting of Shareholders on March 18, 2026: "Across the Company, we endeavor to provide opportunities to enjoy our products and services. To that end, the Company has made thoughtful investments to incorporate accessibility for people with disabilities throughout our operations as we strive to design, promote and serve as a model for accessibility.
The Disney Company explains the many ways that they have made the domestic parks accessible. Along with this, Disney defends that they provide pages to share pertinent information for Guests needing assistance both before and during their visits.
"The Board recommends that you vote "AGAINST" this proposal, and if the proposal is presented, your proxy will be voted against this proposal unless you specify otherwise."
Disney Influences Shareholders

This is not the first time that Disney has tried to influence Shareholders before a big vote. Back in February 2024, Disney enlisted the help of Professor Ludwig Von Drake to show Shareholders how to vote for the Walt Disney Company Board of Directors.
Disney Company urges shareholders to vote AGAINST a DAS review on March 18, 2026.
In that vote, Disney shareholders followed the suggestions, and the 12 suggested Disney nominees were selected. It will be interesting to see the results of this new DAS Review vote.

We have been AP members of both WDW and Universal for many years... long before my husband's disabilities and need for assistance. WDW has done a great injustice to those who love the parks and need asst. to enjoy them. WDW, for the most part, makes people divulge their disabilities - which can be an embarrassing and/or humiliating experience for both the disabled and the CMs.
Universal has it hands down over WDW in the use of their IBCESS system. Their Team Members have never been demeaning, asked embarrassing questions, and have treated us (always) with respect.
People in the disabled community, my husband included, did not choose this life for themselves. What he, and so many, many others, did choose was to go to Disney to feel the magic... if only for a little while...with a little bit of help and understanding.
I do hope that there is a vote to tear this "new" policy up, and take a look at what hurt they have caused so very many since it was put into effect.

100% agree with you! <3 Praying so hard that someone sees the light, bc there is no way that this is what Walt Disney imagined.
Thanks Michele
I hope the proposal passes. Having a daughter who lost her DAS privilege because of the change, I know what it is like. Some of the Disney employees are unhappy also. When we ask for a return time, many either give it to us or tell us to just go ahead right away. Of course, there are some who won't do anything, and it can make a person feel very uncomfortable and near tears. In order to get the return time, the disabled person should not have to tell anyone what the disability is. I also believe Disney did this so more people would buy the Lightening Lane passes. Shareholders-- vote for the independent review.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope that they will vote for the review.
I am a shareholder...and normally when I vote, I vote the opposite of whatever the board recommends. Honestly, the people who currently run Disney (Iger included) have, imo, totally messed up the whole experience of visiting the parks.
I couldn’t agree more! Hopefully all passholders vote with their brains and hearts! Make Disney Magical Again!
Thank you for voting for what will help improve the Park rather than simply what the board recommends.
As a shareholder, I have not been back since the DAS change. Disney should be ashamed of themselves. Every other park has accommodations for people who need. If they would go back to a free fast pass system, people wouldn't be trying to beat the DAS system, this is so obvious to people that go to Disney annually and have seen the changes.
That is a really good point that this only really became a problem when FastPass ended. The Disney Parks are so different now.
Yes, DAS started in 2013... Over 10 years ago... If people start putting 2 and 2 together theres a very obvious problem and solution. Greed is taking over Disney and ruining the magic.
