News: Opening Timeline for Monstroplis at Hollywood Studios

Disney just delivered HUGE news for Monstropolis at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Many Disney Parks goers will miss the Muppets-themed area that long stood in Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, especially Muppet-Vision 3D. However, many fans are also excited for all that is to come!

After all, we are not completely losing the Muppets. Furthermore, many fans are thrilled to welcome Monstropolis to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The Monsters, Inc.-themed area is going to bring another thrill ride to Hollywood Studios, a rollercoaster inspired by the famous doors scene. Not only that, but visitors can expect an entire themed area to accompany the ride, including shops and restaurants.

Glob Theater

The iconic Randy Newman wrote an original song "Welcome to Monstropolis" at "The Glob" Theater.

"Mike and Sulley will be our hosts," Chris said. "Sulley has been working on a small, homespun show, but Mike - ever the showman - has a few surprises up his sleeve that he thinks will bring down the house. Hopefully not literally."

There are three new dining locations: Archie's Scare Big Pizza and Harryhausen's Restaurant.

Monstropolis is starting to take shape as construction continues at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Resort! Steel rises behind the walls, new details emerge almost daily, and with every milestone, the world of Disney and Pixar's Monsters, Inc. is roaring to life.

Monstropolis will open in 2027.

Through a creative collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar Animation Studios, guests will finally be able to take in all the monstrous sights, tastes, and sounds of Sulley and Mike's world.

While much of Monstropolis will open next year, 2027, the Monsters Door Chaser Coaster will open later. Disney has not shared an opening timeline for this attraction.
