It can be awfully tempting to take home a souvenir as a memento of the fun you have on vacation. A Disney vacation is certainly no exception.

Walt Disney World has all sorts of merchandise you can purchase. From classic souvenirs to Festival-specific merchandise to unique options reflecting the culture of World Showcase in EPCOT, if you can dream it, you can find it.

And, fortunately, there are options for any price point. You don't have to break the bank to find great merch. In fact, one of our favorite things starts at just $6!

Gachapon Corner in EPCOT

If you head to Japan Pavilion in EPCOT, and you walk past the stairs to Tepan Edo and toward the Kidcot Area near the shops, you will see Gachapon Corner! This is a relatively new addition to the pavilion.

This area is a kiso filled with vending machines with little mystery prizes from Japan! The prices range from $6 to $12, depending on which surprise series interests you.

This is a great souvenir for adults and kids alike. The selection changes from time to time, but on my most recent visit, my (Kate's) children were able to select from popular IP lines such as Hello Kitty and Pokémon and about a dozen other options!

Using the Machines

The Gachapon Corner kiosk machines take credit cards. They offer on-screen instructions for selecting your mystery item.

Once you select the item you want on the touch screen, you pay for it. Keep in mind, pricing will vary depending on the machine you select.

After you select your machine, you will turn the handle on the machine itself. Then a mystery prize ball will pop out! Then you can open it and reveal your prize!

I did notice that there was a $20 pending charge for each item on my credit card, and that concerned me. But, eventually, those pending charges changed to actual $6 charges, and all was well.

Pirate Tip: Both my kids made sure they liked ALL of the possible options from the mystery set they selected. Then, there was no disappointment, regardless of what popped out.
