Disney World Warns Guests to Avoid Using the Monorail
The Disney Monorail is once again operating, but now with a warning. See how this has greatly impacted Disney World transportation today.
Monorail Fire

Things inevitably can cause a trip to the Disney Parks to be a bit less than magical, from weather to technical difficulties to attractions, fire alarms, and transportation delays.
This morning, around 9:00 am, November 23, 2025, the Monorail Silver experienced an electrical fire.
This was no doubt a scary scene, but Disney and first responders were able to extinguish the fire quickly.
Magic Kingdom Transportation Delays

After this unfortunate incident, the Walt Disney World Monorail service closed this morning. This created a HUGE delay for guests.
All guests were rerouted to use the Walt Disney World water transportation. As you can imagine, the lines were quite long for guests to arrive at the Magic Kingdom.
The Disney Resort Monorail began running once again this afternoon. This was a great sign, but guests were still encouraged to use the water transportation.
Disney Monorail Closed

Guests share that it even at the time of this writing, the Walt Disney World Express Monorail is still only in the testing phase. This monorail route travels directly from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom.
Disney warns guests to avoid using the Monorail Transportation after a fire earlier today.
As Walt Disney World is preparing for a busy week with Thanksgiving crowds, this is a bit concerning. We hope that the monorail will be fully operational tomorrow.
