We thought that we saw a BIG refurbishment list when Walt Disney World prepared for its 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2021, but this was small in comparison to what is now on the horizon for "The Most Magical Place on Earth".

Refurbishments are a part of life at Disney Parks. While these occur for various reasons, they can make your Disney trip a bit less magical, with attraction closures and the dreaded construction walls.

Adventureland Changes

Along with the many new projects and refurbishments at Walt Disney World, Adventureland has seen several changes over the past few months. One of the most popular is the opening of The Beak and Barrel Tavern.

Located near Pirates of the Caribbean, this immersive tavern allows Guests of all ages to feel like a pirate and even meet Rummy, this parrot is quickly becoming a Guest favorite as he tells a quick story, joke, or song as he wobbles out from his main roost in the hollow of the skull's eye at the Cursed Bar.

Another change happened just outside of Adventureland as the entrance sign was removed for an unexpected refurbishment at the beginning of August 2025.

Today, Walt Disney Imagineering shares a look at the work completed on the Adventureland entrance sign. The marquee features a hand-stitched fabric banner (as pictured above).

Along with this new banner, the props are now refreshed. Although unexpected, this was a much-needed "touch-up" to prepare for your next Adventure in Adventureland. It is amazing the attention to detail given to each project.
