Did Disney Deliver on the Beak and Barrel Concept?
Many times Disney offers amazing concept art for new projects, but sometimes they do not deliver. Check out our first look at the Beak and Barrel and see if it is worth the hype.
Captain's Quarters

The Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge will be called The Beak and Barrel and will be open to pirates both big and small. All are welcome to raise a toast to the pirate life. Guests visiting this lounge will find a "sea-worthy selection of grogs and grub.
Let's take a look at the different themed rooms featured in this space. Guests are invited to enjoy "a taste of the finer life" in the Captain's Quarters. You can see the original concept art for this space (featured first) and the look of the actual space (featured below)

Possibly, this space appears better in person, but the space looks dark, and the details of miniature ships in glass bottles would be easy to overlook in this space.
"The Mess"

The largest and central space at The Beak and Barrel was once the mess hall for Spanish soldiers and is now known appropriately as "The Mess." You can see the original concept art for this space featured above.
Guests can take in a few hidden details for this space including a hefty anchor covered in candles serving as a chandelier. You can see what this space actually looks like below.

This space appears to live up to the original concept art. Guests can also find at the far end of the room, the dark corner known as The Brig still bears the bars and framework of its past life - though the door rests nearby, pried off its hinges long ago.
These fun details are what we love about Disney!
More Beak and Barrel Rooms to Explore

Disney also shares images of a few more key spaces in the Beak and Barrel. My (Donna) personal favorite is the MapMaker's Room (featured above). This space looks like it is a bit more secluded, but offers so many great details with rolled up maps, pieces of parchment, spilled ink and many treasured secrets that belonged to a (some may say) crazed pirate cartographer.
Disney shares, "There is so much to discover, so much that no matter how many times ye visit The Beak and Barrel, yer experience will differ!"

The Cursed Bar offers another great themed experience (pictured above). This skull-shaped bar is filled with rare bottles and even prized treasures. There is even an "Enchanted Rum Bottle" that was gifted by a powerful enchantress.
Perched atop the bar, Rummy welcomes patrons and keeps an eye on the crew, quick with a story, joke, or song as he wobbles out from his main roost in the hollow of the skull's eye.
