Something Is Now Missing From EPCOT
There is so much to explore along EPCOT's World Showcase, but now something is missing that has us worried for this location.
World Showcase Changes

There is so much to take in at EPCOT's World Showcase! In addition to food and shops, and great entertainment, make sure to grab your World Showcase passport before heading out.
When Walt Disney World reopened in 2020, the World Showcase was just not the same. The majority of cultural representatives were missing and entertainment did not return for quite some time.
Thankfully, the immersive World Showcase experiences have returned, but one experience has been closed since 2020, and now a key element is missing.
EPCOT Free Lounge

Since 2020, the Restaurant Marrakesh in the Moroccan Pavilion has remained closed. While this location has not been open for dining, it has been used as a lounge for select guests.
For both 2024 and 2025, Restaurant Marrakesh in the Moroccan Pavilion served as the V.I.Passholder Lounge for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders.
The Restaurant Marrakesh in the Moroccan Pavilion has also housed the Florida Blue Lounge, offering complimentary snacks and henna tattoo art for Florida Blue healthcare members and employees.
Changes at the Morocco Pavilion

Yesterday, September 9, 2025, the circular sign remained in place in the entryway; however, the front placard with the dining location name and emblem was now removed. Considering that this dining location has not opened since 2020, this has us a bit worried.
Restaurant Marrakesh is still featured on the Disney website, but has been closed since 2020
Back in December of 2020, Walt Disney World assumed the operations of the Morocco Pavilion. Since this change, the pavilion has changed quite a bit. It is uncertain if a new plan is in the works for Restaurant Marrakesh with this new change.

Used to like eating there. Really miss it.
I was really hoping that it would reopen.
