Brand New Disney Character Announced for Animal Kingdom

Disney surprised us all with BIG news for Disney's Animal Kingdom with an opening date for Zootopia and a brand new Disney character! Don't miss out on these exciting details!

"Zootopia Better Zoogether"

When first announced the new Zootopia attraction would replace the "It's Tough To Be a Bug" 3D show held inside the iconic Tree of Life. This current show can be terrifying for young children with lots of sights, sounds, and feels.

The new name for this attraction will be "Zootopia Better Zoogether". An opening timeline is set for Winter 2025. "It's Tough To Be a Bug" officially closed on March 16, 2025.

Since that time, Disney has been hard at work behind the scenes to create this new show. Today, they shared our first look and opening date details for this new show.

New Disney Character

When "Zootopia Better Zoogether" opens, Guests will get to join the Zoogether Day festivities with familiar furry faces and new friends, like Heidi Howler. That's right, we now have a brand new Disney character who is a "slick-talking wolf who hosts the Zoogether Day LIVE! broadcast with excitement, energy, and quite a bit of howling."

Guests can even join "Carrot Vision" which will include sight, sound, smell, and touch for this immersive experience.

Zoogether Day, a celebration of unity amongst the diverse biomes across the city, will be recognized with special performances such as ice-skating spectaculars from the heart of Tundratown! Synchronized swimming direct from Marsh Market! Tiny mouse drone shows soaring over Little Rodentia! And of course, a musical finale by superstar Gazelle - all of which we'll see from the livestream watch party.

Opening Date for Zootopia Better Together

Guest will also be able ot meet Judy and Nick from Zootopia at Discovery Island near the Tree of Life at the Zoogether Day Gathering Spot. They will be sporting new looks from the new Zootopia 2.
