The Adventureland Update That You Need to Plan For

Your next trip to Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland will look a bit different and not in a great way. Get your spy glasses at the ready for this new change.

Walt Disney said it best, “Around here, however, we don’t look backward for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things…and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

That is truly the case right now at Walt Disney World, with many projects underway. You can check out the current construction work at the Magic Kingdom HERE.

Refurbishments are a part of life at Disney Parks. While these occur for various reasons, they can make your Disney trip a bit less magical, with attraction closures and the dreaded construction walls.

Adventureland Construction

Pirates of the Caribbean is open and welcoming guests aboard. However, in line for the attraction, guests will hear much construction taking place on the new Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge, The Beak and Barrel.

Now, construction walls are well extended along the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. The new wall begins near the attraction’s entrance and extends to the exit of the Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar gift shop.

Our pirate hunch is that this is for the exterior work of The Beak and Barrel. Pack your patience: Adventureland can become quite congested, and these added construction walls to exit both the gift shop and attraction will now be even more crowded.

The Beak and Barrel and will be open to pirates both big and small. All are welcome to raise a toast to the pirate life. Guests visiting this lounge will find a “sea-worthy selection of grogs and grub.”

While Disney has not released an opening timeline, we did see a possible opening in August, but this was quickly deleted from the Walt Disney World website. Hopefully, construction is getting close to ending, to remove these dreaded construction walls from our favorite attraction.
