Warning for Guests Visiting EPCOT

Warning for Guests Visiting EPCOT

This may not be the news you’re hoping for if you have a trip planned to EPCOT. Check out the current cancellations to see how this may affect your trip.

Disney Cancellations

One thing that sets Disney apart from other Theme Parks is its storytelling. There is nothing like Disney storytelling accompanied by fireworks with a beautiful soundtrack to close out the night at a Disney Park.

Disney strives to deliver entertainment consistently. Many times, cancellations are due to weather, and the final decision to cancel a show will come just moments before showtime.

While other times, there may be things behind the scenes that can cancel a show.

Luminous Canceled Again

Last night, as EPCOT guests were beginning to find a good spot to enjoy Luminous:
The Symphony of Us they received a push notification through the My Disney Experience app at 8:10 pm that the 9:00 pm show was canceled.

It appeared that this was not caused by weather, as both Fantasmic! and Happily Ever After still delighted guests last evening. This was a little disappointing, but now this rolls over to guests visiting EPCOT today as well.

As we shared earlier, EPCOT is set to close at 5:30 for all ticketed guests today, May 21, 2025. This will be for a special event for the 2025 Sapphire & ASUG Annual Conference. With this special event, this will cancel a second consecutive night of Luminous: The Symphony of Us at EPCOT.

While Disney has not made an official statement, we heard rumors that the problem may have been with the bridge that must raise to allow the barges in for the night’s performance.

At this time, the Walt Disney World calendar still has showtimes for Luminous tomorrow, May 22nd. We are hopeful that the show may return at that time.
