While never ideal, refurbishment work is needed to maintain attractions throughout Walt Disney World. Unfortunately, this work is scheduled for the busy summer months.
Disney World Closures
Any closures for refurbishments during your Disney vacation can be disappointing, especially if it is something your family or travel party wants to do. Fortunately, Disney does their best to inform Guests of any refurbishments well in advance (when possible).
Although the Disney Parks stay busy throughout the calendar year, there are slower times for the parks. It appears that January may be “Refurbishment Month” for the Disney Parks.
Unfortunately, some work must be completed even during the busy summer months, which has us a bit worried for Andy and all of his toys this summer.
Toy Story Land
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a favorite Park for many guests, offering big thrills, exciting adventures to a galaxy far, far away, and time to play around in “Andy’s Backyard” at Toy Story Land.
A new permit has now been filed for “General Construction” at the address of Toy Story Mania. The good news is that this is with the Adena Corporation. Which indicates this will not be a major refurbishment.
The permit will expire on September 26, 2025, indicating this will coincide with peak summer crowds.
Toy Story Mania Refurbishment
We hope that work at Toy Story Mania will not affect operational hours for guests. For several weeks, construction walls have been in place when guests exit from Toy Story Mania as work continues for new seating at Woody’s Lunch Box.

At this time, it is unclear if the permit may be for work at Toy Story Mania or Woody’s Lunch Box. Hopefully, this will not affect the Guest’s experience too much this summer.
