Orlando International Airport (MCO for short) is a busy airport. Many people traveling to or from Disney World use this airport as it is only about a half hour away.
MCO is consistently listed in the top 10 busiest airports in the United States due to the number of travelers visiting Central Florida. At over 11,000 acres it is also one of the largest airports as well.
Even though Spring Break is officially over, Orlando Airport still is experiencing heavy crowds. Orlando Airport has shared tips on how travelers can be best prepared.
Plane Engine Fire

Today, Orlando International Airport shared that Delta Air Lines flight 1213 departing to Atlanta, experienced an engine fire at 11:06 am. This happened while the plane was at the ramp area before the plane departed. You can see the tweet below:
Delta Air Lines flight 1213 experienced an engine fire today around 11:06 am. There were 282 passengers, 10 flight attendants, and 2 pilots onboard. No injuries were reported.

The passengers were evacuated by emergency evacuation slides from the plane and the Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting team responded to the situation. Orlando Airport advises those to speak directly with Delta Air Lines. No initial injuries have been reported.
At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown.
