Disney Cruise Now Testing Skip the Line Options

We have mixed feelings about this new testing aboard select Disney Cruise Line sailings. Do you think the laid-back vibe of a Disney Cruise is about to become much more complicated?

Disney Cruise Line offers unbeatable entertainment and fun onboard activities. This is one of the main reasons my (Donna) family loves a Disney Cruise vacation.

Along with exceptional entertainment also comes exceptional service. While aboard the Disney Cruise Line, each Guest is treated like a VIP.

A Disney cruise is much more laid back than a day in the parks. You can fill your day aboard the Disney cruise with as many or as few activities as possible. Unfortunately, new testing could make cruising a bit more complicated.

Select Guests ready to set sail on the Disney Wish on April 21, 2025, can take part in brand-new testing through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. The first feature being tested is for parents with children ages 3-10. Guests will be able to schedule a time to finalize the registration process and pick up youth activity bands.

Second, testing is in place for guests to book select experiences, such as meeting characters and riding the AquaMouse. Currently, guests can select times to meet Disney princesses during the Royal Gathering even before the cruise. This new testing seems to apply to even more Disney character meet-and-greets

Finally, this initial testing will allow Guests to book some additional onboard experiences, such as the Magic Decorate-Off in the Navigator app. This fun experience is a group cake decorating program only offered at select Open House times in the Oceaneer Club.

Disney shares, “We often try new ways to surprise and delight our guests, including the features we are currently testing during your sailing (April 21, 2025). We look forward to seeing you soon.” Currently, this is simply a trial, but it could be offered to future sailings.

To access this trial, Guests should download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, connect to the DCL-Guest Wi-Fi network upon arrival at the cruise terminal, and link their stateroom in the app. Once connected, guests can then touch “Add Plans” under “Onboard Fun.”

Disney fans voice mixed feelings about this new testing. Many feel this may help decrease wait time to allow for more fun, while others prefer to unplug from mobile devices and simply relax.
