Disney has big plans for Animal Kingdom, and it will look much different in the coming years. Most of these plans were announced during the D23 event back in September 2024.

DinoLand is about to be extinct at Disney's Animal Kingdom. An entire new land is on the way. It is set to be themed around Tropical Americas! We can't wait to see Welcome to Pueblo Esperanza!

Thankfully, we still have a bit more time to "Go get that Dino!" Check out the closing timeline for the DINOSAUR attraction HERE.

Another change that was announced for Disney's Animal Kingdom affects the park's icon, the Tree of Life. In 2023, Disney teased a brand-new Zootopia attraction coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom at D23.

Disney announced that It's Tough to Be a Bug will permanently close on March 17th, making the final day to enjoy this attraction March 16th.

What Disney Imagineering filed a construction permit for the Tree of Life at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The permit lists Icarus Exhibits, Inc. to "install set elements." The same company is currently working with Disney on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad refurbishment at Magic Kingdom and has done extensive work in all of the Walt Disney World theme parks.

It is unclear how much work will be completed structurally to the "It's Tough to Be a Bug" theater. With the recent permit filing, it appears that work will begin quickly for this new show.

This will be a great way to bring the Zootopia characters to Walt Disney World and bring a new experience to the delight of many. Get a sneak peek of the making of the brand-new Zootopia show HERE.
