A Walt Disney World vacation is a dream for so many, but with long lines and heavy crowds, this can be a bit difficult to navigate for many. Guests who cannot wait in a physical standby queue for longer periods may benefit from Disney’s Disability Access Service.

Instead of waiting in the standby line, they receive a return time that is equal to 10 minutes less than the current wait time. In April 2024, both Walt Disney World and Disneyland made big changes to who is eligible for DAS.

After several months, a subtle change was made that may make DAS available to more guests in the future. Now, here’s the latest change.

When the big change first came to the DAS program. Guests could no longer be approved for DAS in person at the Disney Parks. Instead, guests must register 30 days before their trip via a live video chat.

This eligibility window is now changed to allow guests to seek DAS approval 60 days before their Disney Park visit.

The new wording now states, “Guests can meet virtually with a Cast Member using live video chat to determine what services may be appropriate to support their visit to the theme parks, including DAS. You may have a pre-arrival conversation as soon as 60 days in advance of a park visit.”

In September 2024, the DAS eligibility period doubled to prevent guests from seeking DAS approval if they have another Disney trip planned. Please remember that DAS is only valid for the location you registered for. For example, you must register separately if visiting Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Although guests can no longer be approved for DAS at Disney Parks, Guests can still participate in a live video chat on the day of their visit.
