We thought we had seen it all, but this surprised us today. Check out the unwelcome site that now greets guests as they step into Disney’s Hollywood Studios and see how this will affect nighttime entertainment.
Not What We Expected
Many guests picture in their mind walking down Main Street, USA at Magic Kingdom to see Cinderella Castle. While others imagine strolling down Hollywood Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to see the Chinese Theater.
These locations are iconic to many families, and PhotoPass photographers line these streets to take Guest photos throughout the day.
Today, we expected to see the Chinese Theatre as we entered Hollywood Studios but instead spotted a huge stage obstructing the view. Thanks to @MagicbandManiac for sharing these images:
Future Event
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will close early on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 5:30 pm. A private event will be held by SAP Sapphire & ASUG Annual Conference this evening from 7:30 pm-11:30 pm.
If you have a one-day ticket to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you may want to choose a different park for this day. However, if you have an Annual Pass or a Park Hopper you may enjoy short wait times earlier in the day before park closing.
It appears that the large stage that is now set up is for this big event on June 5th, which means that this stage will be an eyesore and create traffic jams for the next several days.
Why the big preparation?
Walt Disney World hosts many events throughout the year, but this advanced setup seems a bit much. It appears that the big headliner for this private event is Maroon 5.
The large stage appears to be for the June 5th private event.
The large advanced setup does make a bit more sense with the popularity of the band. This may be a less-than-magical entrance to guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the next several days.
Canceled Entertainment
Along with the large stage being an eyesore, it will also affect nighttime entertainment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Nightly, guests can enjoy projections and fireworks during the “Wonderful World of Animation” show on the Chinese Theatre.
Due to the large stage setup, this show is canceled tonight and every night until June 7, 2024. That is an entire week with no nighttime shows. Disney reserves the right to cancel entertainment at any time, but this is quite disappointing for guests planning to visit.
