Disney characters are all over the parks and resorts, and you don’t want to miss meeting your favorites! That’s why it’s important to keep up to date on any changes.
Animal Kingdom Meet and Greets
Meet and greets have changed a lot since the parks reopened in 2020, particularly at Animal Kingdom. For the majority of the last four years, Disney has relied on flotillas for meet and greets at Animal Kingdom.
Those only recently disappeared from the parks as Disney brings more dedicated meet and greets, including the recent additions of Moana, Dug, and Russell.
Be sure to check Character Locator for a full list of meet and greets in the theme parks and resorts. You’ll also find schedules and interaction tips!
Dug Meet
Dug and Russell alternate near It’s Tough to be a Bug at Animal Kingdom. They returned in early March and alternate the same space. So you won’t meet them together, unfortunately.
Talking Dug is now meeting at Animal Kingdom! Using his talking collar, he will now be able to talk with Guests! Talking Dug is also currently meeting at Disneyland for Pixar Fest.
Unfortunately, Talking Dug is roaming Discovery Island and his schedule is not currently listed on My Disney Experience.
What does this mean for you?
While the talking portion is so cute (and reminiscent of Talking Mickey at Magic Kingdom), finding him will be a bit more tricky as he does not have a set location or schedule.
Kevin is still roaming around Discovery Island as well.
If you want to ensure you meet Talking Dug, we recommend taking some time out your day (preferably morning to early afternoon), and just hanging out in the Discovery Island area. You should run into him!
Who knows how long he sticks around in this location. He may move back to his normal spot after just a few days or this may be a permanent set up. We will keep posted if things change!
