A First Look at the New Tron Movie

Disney is giving fans a first look at the new TRON movie. Here is everything we know about the film so far.

Calling all sci-fi fans. Today, Disney released a first look at the latest installment in the popular TRON franchise. This hotly anticipated installment is called Tron: Ares. It is a followup to Disney’s 1982 TRON and the 2010 sequel, TRON: Legacy.

The movie follows a highly sophisticated Program called Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission. The tale marks humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.

Disney confirmed some of the film’s details. For instance, Joachim Rønning is in the director’s chair. Rønning stated, “I’m excited to be part of the TRON franchise and bring this new film to fans around the world. TRON: Ares builds upon the legacy of cutting-edge design, technology and storytelling. Now more than ever, it feels like the right time to return to the Grid.”

Jared Leto is staring in TRON: Ares. He will be joined by Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, and Gillian Anderson.

Not only that, but Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Jared Leto, Emma Ludbrook, and Steven Lisberger are the producers. Russell Allen serves as executive producer.

Tron: Ares already began filming in January in Vancouver Canada. It is slated to be released in 2025.

His final comments mention that the time is right for a new chapter, and he is grateful for the team. The first film he produced was Tron: Legacy, and he will have the opportunity to work on the latest installment of the franchise.
