The Magic Kingdom is the busiest and most popular theme park in the entire world. Millions of people walk through the gates every year to experience its magic.

The park is divided into several sections: Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. In each land, you will find dining, shopping, characters, attractions, and more.

With some great planning (like subscribing to Character Locator and following this blog), you can enjoy everything this magical park has to offer. However, there is one warning you should be aware of if you are there right now.

Why You Should Avoid It Today

Many families are already on Christmas break, and the crowds have descended upon Disney World to celebrate the holidays. Magic Kingdom is undoubtedly the most popular of the four theme parks.

Genie+ is already sold out today for Magic Kingdom (and therefore for park hopping as well) today, December 20. This is a record as it sold out shortly after 9:30 am. We rarely see Genie+ sell out most days. On the handful of days a park does sell out, it usually occurs in the afternoon.

Because of this, Guests using Genie+ will find a lot of attractions will “sell out” quickly. For example, just before 10:00 am Jingle Cruise’s next return time is already 6:15 pm.

Then, you will be forced to wait in long lines for attractions you do not have a Genie+ return time for. This really does not sound like a magical way to spend the day.

We certainly hope later this week will prove to be different. We know everyone has to visit Magic Kingdom at some point or another, so just set your expectations accordingly. You may also want to consider hopping at 2:00 if the crowds get to be too much.

Just know that it’s a very busy week at Disney World, and everything is going to be busy! At this time, the other parks still offer Genie+.
