Disney shared “Blue Sky” plans to revamp Dinoland at Animal Kingdom back in September. Now, we are learning what Disney may want to do there with Indiana Jones.

Disney has teased us two years in a row now about Animal Kingdom and Dinoland. At last year’s D23 Event, Josh D’Amaro explained as “blue sky” or something that is entirely new, something new is coming to Animal Kingdom. He hinted at a new Zootopia and Moana Land. But, this is not the case.

At the D23 Expo in 2023, Josh D’amaro shared something entirely new coming!! Dinoland U.S.A. is being reimagined to focus on the tropical Americas – the Northern Part of South American and Central America.

These tropical areas include Encanto theming and Indiana Jones! We’re really hopeful Bruno and other Encanto friends will meet here, too! The Dinosaur attraction will also likely be rethemed to Indiana Jones!

To start with the concept art pictured above, Josh D’Amaro shares with Entertainment Weekly that it’s not set in stone. He explains, it’s “where our heads are” as his team continues “dreaming” plans for Animal Kingdom.

How exactly will Indiana Jones fit into the theme of Animal Kingdom? “Animal Kingdom is about exploration and adventure,” he says. “I was fortunate enough to have run that theme park, so I know how special it is, and I think there are a lot of stories that we can stay true to Animal Kingdom and express new properties in there, and that’s what you see us starting to do.”

It’s long speculated (and feels highly likely) an Indiana Jones attraction will take over DINOSAUR. The track, vehicles, and concept are both quite similar.

We are excited to see how Disney will transform Dinoland. Dinoland as a whole feels disjointed from itself as well as the rest of the park. Hopefully, Disney will give this project the attention it deserves. After all, the company is planning to invest 60 billion dollars into the parks over the next 10 years.

Casey, totally agree, this sucks. Doesn’t sound that they have a comprehensive plan and a like they are just throwing things in there. As for Dinosaur becoming Indiana Jones, Monica is that like the ride in DL? My daughter and I were both looking forward to that ride and very disappointed with it. So if that is the case leave Dinosaur alone as it is better than Indiana Jones.
