Sometimes things really are FREE at Walt Disney World Resort. Believe it or not, right now you can enjoy free beverages (and we aren’t talking just plain old tap water), crafts, and other goodies. Here are all the details on how you can take advantage of this fun FREE benefit.
Disney Freebies
Isn’t it fantastic when you find something that you and your family can enjoy at absolutely no additional cost while you are on vacation? Freebies at Walt Disney World are few and far between; however, they are not impossible to find.
For example, you can find a great list of things that are still free at Walt Disney World right HERE. You can also see how to enjoy free fun like campfire sing-alongs HERE and free video games and prizes HERE. And right now, there is another GREAT freebie that you need to know about, but it will only be around for a limited time.
What’s Free in Disney Now?
Right now, you can take advantage of the Florida Blue Medicare Lounge when you visit EPCOT. Although you must have valid park admission to enter EPCOT, once you scan in, you can access this amazing benefit at no cost whatsoever.
The Florida Blue Lounge has been available for limited time frames during EPCOT festivals several times over the past few years. This time it is back with several great additions that you will not want to miss out on.
It offers free beverages and a great place to cool off or rest during a busy day at the parks. Even better, this year there is a fun returning activity and a brand-new one as well. Guest can Sculpt, Sip, and Swirl this year!
Here is a review of all the fun. We also have advice for your best chance to get all of the free souvenirs, experiences, and drinks with less of a wait!
A Lovely Lounge
If you want to find the Lounge, you will need to head to EPCOT’s Morocco Pavillion in the World Showcase. Morocco is located between Japan and France. That means it would be very convenient to visit without much backtracking before or after you enjoy Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
If you head to the back of Mococco, you will find the lounge in Restaurant Marrakesh. The restaurant has yet to reopen, and for now, it makes a beautiful place for relaxation on a bustling day in EPCOT. It feels nice and secluded.
The Lounge has limited hours, and it does not match the park’s hours. You can visit from noon to 6 PM during its available date range, so plan accordingly.
Free Drinks
When you arrive, you will have the option to enjoy free beverages. In fact, you can enjoy several if you like!
Of course, complimentary cups of tap water are available. Moreover, this year there is cold brew coffee for Guests who need a pick-me-up. And, if you prefer tea to coffee, you can try Moroccan mint tea. These are all available for you and your party to help yourselves.
You can also ask a Cast Member for more great options! This year you can enjoy full-size cans of AHA sparkling water! You drink it while you rest in the lounge or take it along with you for later if you wish.
There are 2 flavors on the menu. You can choose between Lime Watermelon and Blueberry Pomegranet. I (Katie) have had both and prefer the Lime, but you could ask to try them both and see for yourself.
Additionally, you can enjoy free Pure Green Juices. You will not receive a full-size bottle of these. Cast members will pour a sample into a cup for you to try. The flavors available are Pure Greens with Apple and Coconut Hydrate.
Unlike previous years, there are no snacks available this year. However, there are other great offerings!
Free Mosaic Tile Making
You and your travel party can also make your own mosaic tile craft project while you are there. It is so fun to bring home something handmade to remember your time in the magic!
This is the sort of activity that typically carries an additional cost. But, at this time it is free.
Tile-making sessions run from 1:00-4:00 PM each day. However, it is important to note that the sessions do reach capacity, and the wait can become lengthy, so take that into consideration. It is best to arrive early to make your tile to minimize your wait time.
When you arrive, you will find a queue for the tiles. Cast members will have you write your name on a round marker to keep the tiles labeled.
Next, you will select the shape you would like for your tile creation. There are 3 Moroccan-inspired designs to select from. The cast member will take the shape you select and create a mold in the sand for you.
Once you have decided on the shape, it is time to select the materials to create your design. Cast members will ask you to select up to 10 or 12 of the beautiful stones and other materials to utilize your design.
After you select your materials, it is time to arrange them in the imprint in the sand. And, once they are arranged, the cast members will pour the concrete mixture over your design. It will harden and form the shape of the tile you selected!
It takes about 15 minutes for the tiles to be dry and ready for you to take, so you can enjoy other offerings in the lounge while you wait. Once they are dry and ready to go, the Cast Member will affix a ribbon to the tile for you to use as a hanger!
It is a really fun craft for adults and children alike. If you have kids who love crafting or kids who love to see how stuff works, they will have fun with the entire process.
If you would like to do the craft, I would recommend you arrive shortly before 1:00 to make yours. My travel party walked in around 12:55 and was able to create tiles with no wait right at 1:00.
However, by the time ours were dry and ready for pickup, there was quite a queue formed. The cast member shared with us that the wait is usually very long by 3:00 and that it can reach capacity.
Even More Fun
While you wait, you can also enjoy complimentary Henna Tattoos. This offering is available to promote self-care. Sometimes you can find Henna Tattoos available as one of Disney’s poolside activities at select resorts, but this is the way to enjoy them free of charge.
Overall, a trip to the Florida Blue Lounge is certainly worth the time! It makes for a wonderful break if you are over in that part of World Showcase between the hours of 1 pm and 6 pm, and it is especially worth it if you can time your visit to coincide with tile making.
If you want to visit this year’s Florida Blue Longe, you will need to hurry. This year’s offering is only available Now through November 18, 2023.
The last day to enjoy the lounge is November 18, 2023.
How to Get a Pass
If you would like to visit, you will also need a Guest Pass. You do not have to be a member of Florida Blue to obtain a pass. Simply type “Florida Blue Lounge” into the search feature on your My Disney Experience App. From there you will find directions for how to sign up for your pass.
Cast Members shared with us that as it stands, a Florida Blue Longe location will not be available again until EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts. And, the location and offerings will be different. So if you want to enjoy the current fun, head there soon.
